Nicholas Peters and Co. was formed in January 1998. We are a general practice with a particular speciality in property.
Nicholas Peters and Co was originally founded by Peter Petrou with Andrew Georgiades becoming the second Partner in 2002. Between the two partners the firm has now been built up to a team of staff based between a West End Branch and a Barnet Branch and recently expanding into the Midlands.
We are a friendly firm who aim to be an important part of clients business not only in carrying out accounting work but also in business advice and planning. We aim to create a relationship with each client where they feel they can approach us at anytime and treat us as an extension of their business, be it small or large.

Liaising with intricate clients in complex and time restricted situations.
Providing bookkeeping training to clients alongside training on VT Transaction software.
Performing audits on SME clients with large assets and high turnover.
Supervising juniors with general bookkeeping, accounting and taxation queries including PAYE and payroll matters.

My role included:
Preparation of statutory accounts using Iris.
Preparation of corporation tax computations including CT600s using Iris.
Preparation of Self Assessment tax computations and returns.
Book-keeping for a portfolio of clients on VT Transaction and Sage Line 50.
Liaising directly with clients for accounting queries.
Ad hoc duties such as producing business plans, budgeting and ratio analysis.
Assisting partner of general practice administration, conferencing with partner to organise client’s records inwards, process time allocation to members of staff, time restructuring to meet deadlines.

KJ Pittalis & Co was established in 1958 by the founding and managing partner, KJ Pittalis.
Since then the practice has evolved and expanded inherently and now offers modern and up to date services for clients.
The managing partner is John K Pittalis and the team has strengthened over the last few years. It consists of a loyal and dedicated workforce providing professional services to our clients to help their businesses move forward.
The practice specialises in dealing with owner managed businesses and deals with all aspects of their accounting and taxation affairs.
My role included:
Monthly, quarterly and annual VAT analysis using different schemes such as cash accounting, annual accounting and flat rate schemes. VAT returns calculation and computations.
Preparation of Self Assessment tax returns.
General book-keeping and maintaining accounts, analysis of sales and expense ledgers and day books.
Reconciliation of bank account, PAYE control account, VAT control account, debtors and creditors.
Producing creditors and debtors lists.
Preparation of accruals and prepayments, ensuring estimates are material and reasonable. Investigate unusual trends or variances and giving explanations where appropriate. Raising adjustment journals. Carrying out analytical reviews on both balance sheet and income statement figures to ensure no misstatement.
Computing corporation tax and CT600. Preparation of draft financial reports for review by seniors.

Executive Member, Bangladesh Welfare Society of Barnet
BWSB is a charity organisation lead by members that reside within the locality of Barnet.
The organisation helps and promotes the Bengali community:
- To advance the education of the general public in the Bangladeshi culture and heritage.
- To advance the education of members of the Bangladeshi and non-Bangladeshi community in Barnet in the Bengali and English languages.
- The relief of poverty, the advancement of education and the promotion and protection of good health, particularly but not exclusively of women of Bangladeshi origin by the provision of advice, information and support in such matters as health, education, welfare and employment.
- The provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life of those persons who have the need of such facilities by reason of their age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances.
